Inktober 2018

After multiple attempts over the years, I was finally able to participate in an Inktober! Rather than following the assigned daily list, I developed a custom set that centered around my favorite video game, Bloodborne; from classic horror themes to cosmic alien abnormalities, the world of Yharnam and beyond is quite fitting for a drawing challenge based in October.

It’s an odd sensation when you force yourself to draw 31 days in a row and publicly post everything that’s created, despite feeling that only a handful of these were ultimately “good enough”. If any of you out there know me personally, you know that I’m my own vicious critic (and it can be a PROBLEM); however, this experience was fairly therapeutic, and it was great connecting with people that love this game as much as I do.

I have to note that despite some of the positive outcomes from participating in Inktober 2018, it overall was a failure for me in terms of social media numbers and general growth of my online presence. There’s probably a number of reasons as to why this would be the outcome (infrequent posting times and hiatuses, brand planning/development, focusing heavily on other aspects of my life), but I just have to learn from my mistakes and carry on with my current projects. If you enjoyed the Bloodborne series I posted or have recommendations about what I should do for Inktober 2019, please let me know!
